We're excited about this next phase in our journey, but we also know that building a home and starting a farm from scratch will come with its own set of challenges. We'll need to carefully plan and budget every aspect of our homestead, from the layout of our gardens to the type of animals we raise.
But we're up for the challenge! We're determined to create a self-sustaining homestead that provides our family with fresh, healthy food and a peaceful, natural environment to call home.
In the meantime, we're enjoying exploring our new property and learning about the native plants and animals that call it home. We're also busy preparing the land for our future garden, building compost bins, and researching the best breeds of animals to raise.
We had such a great experience with our realtor Claudette Faubion of Noble Realty and Lonestar Ag. Claudette helped us navigate the process and Lonestar made the loan process easy. While we don't have any future plans to buy more land, we know exactly who we will recommend to all our friends and family.
As we stood in front of the old barn, we couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the history and stories that must be embedded within those weathered wooden planks. We imagined the animals that once called it home and the hard work that went into keeping it standing. And while the barn may be in disrepair now, we have hope for its future.
Our dream is to one day rebuild the barn and give it new life. We want to restore it to its former glory and preserve a piece of history on our land. It will be a long and challenging project, but we're excited for the opportunity to bring this structure back to life.
For now, we'll hold onto these photos as a reminder of our past and a symbol of our future aspirations. Every time we look at them, we'll be reminded of the beauty and potential that lies within our land and our dreams.
